The Evangelization Equation: The Who, What, and How is a crash course in the "New Evangelization" to which both Pope John Paul II and Benedict XVI have called all Catholics. The Cultural Production of Social Movements

The Cultural Production of Social Movements offers a theory of cultural practices, protest tactics, strategic planning and deliberation, and movement organizational structures: "ideological contention." It is a theory of ideology "from below." The Cultural Production of Social Movements shows how conflicts-both with external political forces and disagreements, dissensus, and the decision-making process internal to social movements-produce knowledge and meanings that, in turn, impact upon and change the practices that contribute to how social movements are structured and organized. The Cultural Production of Social Movements theorizes the relationship between consciously held superordinate ideas, the changing composition of progressive and oppositional social struggles, and the social worlds they hope to inhabit. Analyzing the Black Panther Party, specifically Kathleen Cleaver's break with the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee and her contributions to the Party, Operaismo (or Workerism) in Italy and the relationship between shifting organizational strategies, inventive tactics, and novel and expansive ways to theorize class struggles, and the communal composition of "Worker-Recovered Enterprise Movements" in contemporary Argentina, this book shows how movement ideologies change and how meanings structure organizations, mobilizations, and futures. In The Cultural Production of Social Movements ideology is neither a static set of principles, nor is an unconscious orientation towards power and governance. Rather, it is the contentious, democratizing, and deliberative processes-which become realized as tactics in protests, struggles, defeats, and victories-that makes the relationship between movements, and what they "mean" conscious to its participants.

The Catholic Verses 95 Bible Passages That Confound Protestants
Free Download The Catholic Verses: 95 Bible Passages That Confound Protestants By Dave Armstrong
2004 | 235 Pages | ISBN: 1928832733 | EPUB | 1 MB
By Dave Armstrong Scriptural Truths for the Truth of the Catholic Faith Martin Luther ignited the Protestant Reformation by tacking ninety-five anti-Catholic theses to a church door in Germany. Now Dave Armstrong counters with ninety-five pro-Catholic passages from an authority far greater than Luther: the Bible itself. Protestants (and even many Catholics) will be surprised to see Catholicism so strongly supported by these Catholic verses. Not Armstrong! As a Bible-believing Protestant, he studied Scripture intently. There he encountered countless Catholic verses that convinced him that the Bible is a Catholic book. It was written by Catholics, preserved by Catholics for more than 1,400 years before Luther was born, and even today confirms the claims of the Catholic Church. That's why," says Armstrong, early Protestant opinion was virtually identical to today's Catholic

Reasons to Believe How to Understand, Explain, and Defend the Catholic Faith
Free Download Reasons to Believe: How to Understand, Explain, and Defend the Catholic Faith By Scott Hahn
2007 | 227 Pages | ISBN: 0385509359 | EPUB | 1 MB
This book unravels mysteries, corrects misunderstandings, and offers thoughtful, straightforward responses to common objections about the Catholic faith.Bestselling author Scott Hahn, a convert to Catholicism, has experienced the doubts that so often drive discussions about God and the Church. In the years before his conversion, he was first a nonbeliever and then an anti-Catholic clergyman. In REASONS TO BELIEVE, he explains the "how and why" of the Catholic faith--drawing from Scripture, his own struggles and those of other converts, as well as from everyday life and even natural science. Hahn shows that reason and revelation, nature and the supernatural, are not opposed to one another; rather they offer complementary evidence that God exists. But He doesn't merely exist. He is someone, and He has a personality, a personal style, that is discernible and knowable. Hahn leads readers to see that God created the universe with a purpose and a form--a form that can be found in the Book of Genesis and that is there when we view the natural world through a microscope, through a telescope, or through our contact lenses. At the heart of the book is Hahn's examination of the ten "keys to the kingdom"--the characteristics of the Church clearly evident in the Scriptures. As the story of creation discloses, the world is a house that has a Father, a palace where the king is really present. God created the cosmos to be a kingdom, and that kingdom is the universal Church, fully revealed by Jesus Christ.
