It includes the DaVinci Neural Engine, which allows you to recognize human faces, use the Speed Warp function to create timing effects, perform automatic alignment and apply a color scheme. DaVinci Neural Engine Platform
The new DaVinci Neural Engine platform uses the latest technologies based on neural networks, artificial intelligence and machine learning. This adds features such as Speed Warp for timing effects and Super Scale for zooming in, auto alignment and color scheme application. Compatible with any operating system and efficient allocation of GPU resources provides unsurpassed processing speed and quality, allowing you to solve complex and time-consuming tasks with simple tools. For example, face recognition makes it possible to sort and place clips in folders without performing manual operations.
New and Improved ResolveFX Plugins
DaVinci Resolve 18 Studio brings significant improvements to existing ResolveFX plugins and adds new ones. They allow you to use vignetting and shadows, analog noise, distortion and color aberration, remove objects and stylize the material. A number of other tools have been further optimized, including TV Line Simulation, Facial Smoothing, Background Fill, Reshaping, Dead Pixel Removal, and Color Space Transformation. In addition, keyframes for ResolveFX effects can be viewed and edited using curves on the Edit and Color pages.
Legendary DaVinci Quality
DaVinci Resolve uses Emmy™ award-winning 32-bit precision processing technology, and the YRGB color space allows you to separate the Y-component from the red, green, and blue channels. This makes it possible to adjust the brightness settings without rebalancing the color in the highlights, midtones, and shadows. Such functionality provides full support for the latest formats with a wide dynamic range to create an original visual range.
Blackmagic RAW
Blackmagic RAW is a new state-of-the-art codec that delivers exceptional image quality and superior speed performance. Thanks to an improved debayerization algorithm and a completely different processing method, it retains all the advantages of RAW, but at the same time it is easier to handle and faster to use, and the files created with it do not exceed the size of a regular video.
Blackmagic RAW partially transfers debayerization from the software application to the camera itself, where this process is performed in hardware. Due to this redistribution of resources, compression becomes much more efficient, and video requires less space on the storage device. Blackmagic RAW is not just another format with the RAW extension, but a new hybrid codec that takes into account the peculiarities of the camera sensor. The resulting image, even at a high compression ratio, has excellent performance, giving you full control over a range of RAW parameters, including ISO, white balance, exposure, contrast, saturation, and custom color space. Additionally, Blackmagic RAW offers comprehensive support for metadata and customizable .sidecar files,
Blackmagic RAW is suitable for shooting, editing and grading projects, while all operations are performed from a single file. Any changes to the camera settings are not only reflected in DaVinci Resolve as metadata, but are fully editable. After adjusting the RAW parameters in DaVinci Resolve, the resulting clip is easy to open for viewing and automatic use in other programs that recognize Blackmagic RAW. Due to this, a uniform visual range is achieved regardless of the application or platform used. All of this makes Blackmagic RAW the fastest RAW-based codec that delivers exceptional image quality.
Grading features in DaVinci Resolve 18:
The legendary DaVinci Resolve tools allow you to perform grading at a level that cannot be achieved with other applications. For this reason, DaVinci Resolve is used more than other software products in feature film and television productions. It contains the means of primary and secondary color correction, provides tracking and image stabilization, and also allows you to apply curves.
