Description:
Judo is a traditional Japanese martial art developed by Jigoro Kano in 1882. It is based on the principle of "maximum efficiency, minimum effort", in which the opponent's strength is used to overpower him. There are various techniques in judo, including throws, levers and holds, which are performed both standing and on the ground. The sport not only promotes physical strength and flexibility, but also mental discipline and respect for others. Judo is practiced worldwide in various age groups and performance classes and has been an Olympic discipline since 1964.There are different belt colors that symbolize the progress and ability of a judoka, from white for beginners to black for masters. The sporting competition in judo takes place on a special mat, the "tatami", in order to avoid injuries.Apart from the sporting aspect, judo also teaches important values such as politeness, modesty and self-control.In the middle of a Judo fight, it is rare to see the fighter use more than three or four different techniques. Each one of the fighters knows how to apply more than fifty techniques on his opponent. This shows that the knowledge of a maximum of techniques is not the most important thing; the fighter has to learn how to prepare himself and how to place his techniques within the fight. The purpose of this video is th show you the main methods and the tips that the Champions use in order to resolve problematic attitudes shown by their opponents. Many lessons, exercises and opening techniques are shown and explained.
